Britwire Media Ltd ('Britwire', 'we', 'us') is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and safeguard data in compliance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. Data We Collect

We collect: contact details you provide (email, name) when subscribing to The Wire or contacting us; technical data (IP address, browser type, device identifiers); usage data (pages viewed, time on site); and cookie preferences.

3. Lawful Basis

We process personal data under three lawful bases: your consent (newsletter, marketing cookies); legitimate interests (analytics, fraud prevention); and contractual necessity (responding to your enquiries).

4. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your data, and to object to processing. Contact privacy@britwire.co.uk to exercise these rights. We respond within 30 days.

5. Data Retention

Newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe. Contact form messages are retained for 24 months. Analytics data is anonymised after 26 months.

6. Third Parties

We share data with: hosting providers (AWS, London region); email service providers (for newsletter delivery); and analytics providers (anonymised). We do not sell data.

7. Supervisory Authority

You may lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
